Recent servant leadership activities for students include:

• The annual student-led Alternative Gift Market and Christmas Bazaar
• Service trips to assist with tornado recovery in Greensburg, Kan., in August 2007, 2008 and 2009
• A Chapel Choir trip to serve and sing in Greensburg, Kan., in fall 2008
• The Bergie Bus Memorial Tour in 2007, with staff and students taking participants to serve in Kansas and Oklahoma
• Regular blood drives, campus clean-up days and recycling efforts on campus

Within the last ten years, graduates have served with:

• the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Global Mission program in India, England and Slovakia
• Teach for America in New York City
• Lutheran Service Corps in Omaha, Neb.
• AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps on the west and Gulf coast

Within six months of graduation:

• more than 90% of criminal justice graduates have jobs in their field
• more than 90% of teacher education graduates have teaching jobs
• more than 90% of social work students are practicing social work or have been accepted for graduate study

Art education graduates who have applied to teaching positions have a 100% employment record.

More than 90% of music majors are placed in music-related careers.

Within the last five years:

• Art therapy graduates who have applied to graduate school have a 100% placement record.
• Pre-law students who have applied to law school have a 98% placement rate.
• Bethany pre-med graduates have an excellent record of acceptance. They attend medical school, veterinary school, dental school, chiropractic school, podiatry school, physical therapy school, physician assistant school, and graduate schools across the country.
