Bethany College Music Department Announces Events for the Fall Semester

LINDSBORG, KAN. SEPT 25, 2024 - The Bethany College Music Department announces its Fall 2024 schedule of musical events that are free and open to the public. 


Each semester, the college offers a variety of musical performances featuring talented student musicians and esteemed faculty. Bethany takes great pride in presenting a diverse calendar of fine art events for Lindsborg and the surrounding communities, offering opportunities to celebrate music, art, and culture on our campus.


On Tuesday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m., a Bethany College Music Faculty Recital in the Pearson Chapel featuring Leslie Mangrum, soprano; Laura Black, violin; Troy Robertson, bass-baritone; Tyler Boehmer, organ and piano; Larry Dean, trumpet.


Sunday, October 27, at 2 p.m., the Bethany College Choir and Handbell ensemble will perform a concert at Bethany Lutheran Church at 320 N. Main St., Lindsborg. 


Tuesday, November 5, at 2:30 p.m., a department recital will be held in the Pearson Chapel on the Bethany College Campus. Department recitals are held three times a semester and showcase the talented music students at Bethany College.


Sunday, November 17, at 3 p.m., Bethany College Senior Aubrey Larson will present her senior recital in the Pearson Chapel on the Bethany College Campus.


Tuesday, November 19, at 2:30 p.m., a department recital will be held in the Pearson Chapel on the Bethany College Campus. Department recitals are held three times a semester and showcase the talented music students at Bethany College.


Tuesday, December 3, at 7 p.m., the Bethany College Orchestra, Band, and Jazz Band ensembles will perform a concert at Presser Hall on the Bethany College Campus.


Tuesday, December 10, at 2:30 p.m., a department recital will be held in the Pearson Chapel on the Bethany College Campus. Department recitals are held three times a semester and showcase the talented music students at Bethany College.


Sunday, December 15, at 4 p.m., the Bethany College Choir and Handbell ensemble will perform a concert at Bethany Lutheran Church at 320 N. Main St., Lindsborg.

Bethany College is proud to announce the return of sideline cheer, launching with the 2025–26 academic year. Leading the program is newly appointed head coach Patricia Smith, an experienced educator and cheer coach. Sideline cheer will return to Bethany’s home football and basketball games.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Audrey Saxton as the new Assistant Professor of English. Saxton earned both her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in English from Penn State University, where she taught courses in writing and composition, world literature, and pre-1800 literature.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Case as the new Assistant Professor of Religion. Case earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 in Ancient Mediterranean Religions with a graduate portfolio in Women's and Gender Studies.
