Student Safety

Providing for the safety and well-being of members of the Bethany College community is the major responsibility of Student Affairs personnel. In an emergency situation, the first step should always be to call 911 to connect with the McPherson County dispatcher. Once 911 is called, para-professional Resident Assistants should be contacted to assess the situation and bring in support from full-time, professional Residence Life staff. Students should only elect to first call Resident Assistants, rather than 911, in situations that do not require the presence of police, emergency medical professionals, firefighters, or other local emergency personnel.

The Student Affairs Office is committed to:
- Assisting and supporting students within the campus community
- Responding to concerns in a timely and efficient manner through on-call staff
- Upholding the College's policies and procedures
- Working closely with the local police department to ensure criminal activity is reported

Bethany College is a violence, weapon, alcohol, and drug free campus.

Contact the Student Affairs Office, or a full-time, professional Residence Life staff member, with any safety concerns.

Lindsborg Public Safety Center personnel are called in cases of unlawful activity. In case of medical emergencies, the Lindsborg Community Hospital operates a 24-hour Emergency Room and is located at 605 S. Lincoln. Ambulances can be reached by calling 911.
