BETHANY COLLEGE NAMES PROVOST AND INTERIM DEAN OF COLLEGE

LINDSBORG, KAN., August 5, 2019-On Friday, August 2, Interim President Dr. Elizabeth Mauch announced new leadership in academic affairs effective August 5, necessary as a result of her transition from vice president of academic affairs and dean of the college, to interim president.

Bob Carlson has agreed to step into the role of Provost and also oversee Student Development, Athletics and Academics.  Ed Pogue has agreed to serve as Interim Dean of the College.

“I have appreciated Bob’s counsel over this past year, and I know he will be an invaluable resource in overall leadership, specifically in the areas of budget and retention,” commented Dr. Mauch, interim president. Further, Interim President Dr. Mauch stated, Ed’s “entrepreneurial spirit that will serve him in program development and HLC preparation, and provide the necessary spirit to move Bethany forward.”

Bethany College’s Opening Session, for faculty and staff, is scheduled for August 14 starting at 10 AM in the Chapel.    

Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The mission of Bethany College is to educate, develop, and challenge individuals to reach for truth and excellence as they lead lives of faith, learning, and service.
