Bethany College Theatre Club Announces 2026-2027 Season Featuring Eurydice and The Addams Family: A New Musical
Bethany students take center stage in a season exploring love, loss, family and the unexpected ways we find meaning in life.
LINDSBORG, Kan. August 11, 2026 – Bethany College Theatre Club today announced its 2026-2027
season, featuring two productions that will challenge, entertain and inspire audiences through stories of
love, family, loss and the meaning of life. The upcoming season will open with Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice,
running October 29-November 1, 2026, followed by The Addams Family: A New Musical, running April
15-18, 2027.
The productions were selected to provide Bethany College students with opportunities to explore diverse
theatrical styles while developing their skills both on and off the stage.
“Going into this year, we wanted to choose a play that would challenge the students to dig deep and a
musical that would encourage humor and showmanship,” said Elizabeth Robertson, director of the
Bethany College Theatre Club. “Eurydice is a retelling of a classic Greek tale with themes of love,
nostalgia, and trust from the perspective of a strong female lead. While it is a tragedy, the show hits deep
and will leave audiences thinking about what makes life meaningful and how to live a life of love!”
Robertson said The Addams Family will offer a very different theatrical experience while still exploring
meaningful themes.
“Addams similarly explores themes of vigor and life as a dark comedy. When Wednesday falls in love,
all bets are off for this odd family. The show looks at the dynamics in a close-knit family, aging, love,
and how to make life worth living,” Robertson said. “We hope these shows provide a bit of spectacle
and fun while challenging our students with something new!”
For Bethany students involved in Theatre Club, the upcoming season represents an opportunity to build
friendships, create lasting memories and engage deeply with the characters and stories they bring to life.
“Being able to participate in last year’s shows was an amazing opportunity that brought me closer to
friends and established countless memories, and I am looking forward to doing it again this year,” said
Gabrielle Arnold ’29. “I was thrilled to hear that the Bethany College Theatre Club plans to present
Eurydice and The Addams Family: A New Musical for the 2026-2027 season!”
Arnold said she particularly enjoys the process of exploring characters and connecting with audiences.
“Deepening my relationship with characters, learning the significance of these stories, and presenting
my findings to audience members are my favorite parts of the acting process, and I can’t wait to dive in
again with these new shows,” she said.
“I am so excited about the release of Bethany's shows for this upcoming year, “shared Jessica Lovett
’28. “The Addams Family has always been one of my favorite musicals, and I can't wait to experience
the exciting twist this family has to navigate in The Addams Family: A New Musical.”
