Biography
Christi Wicks earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology, and her Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Teaching from Fort Hays State University, before going on to complete her Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. Her dissertation, Overworked Parents' Description of Instrumental Media Devices in Childrearing: A Qualitative Study, examined the ways in which overworked parents turn to screening devices as a practical childrearing tool to help manage and mediate everyday stress.

Wicks specializes in child development, with a particular emphasis on social and emotional development, cognition, and learning. Drawing on years of hands-on experience working with children and families, she brings a grounded, practical perspective to her teaching and research.

At Bethany College, Wicks teaches Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, General Psychology, Behavior Modification, Cognitive Psychology, Human Sexuality, and Sociology.

Wicks has also served as Bethany College's Title IX Coordinator since 2019, overseeing the college's compliance with Title IX, responding to reports of sex discrimination and harassment, supporting affected parties, and working to ensure a safe and equitable environment for all members of the campus community.
