Biography
The Rev. Melissa Woeppel is an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
She received her Master of Divinity with honors in theology from United Lutheran Seminary (ULS) in Gettysburg, PA. She was also the recipient of the Frederick Buechner Award for Excellence in Writing. She was a pastoral intern and pastoral associate at Peace Lutheran Church in Charlottesville, VA and served her first call at Lutheran Church of the Living Christ in Florissant, MO.
Pastor Melissa is a proud 2015 graduate of Bethany College, where she took advantage of all a Lutheran liberal arts education had to offer. Majoring in English and Communication with a minor in religion, she was also a member of many music ensembles and served as Swede Government Association President for 2 years.
Pastor Melissa returned to Bethany College as Campus Pastor in January 2023, where she oversees the religious and spiritual life of the College and is called to serve the entire campus community. You can find her raising a ruckus in the stands, cheering on the fine arts, and talking vocation to anyone who comes by for a chat.
