Types of Aid
There are many ways to pay for Bethany College education and many students use more than one type of aid. You should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine which types of financial aid assistance you may be eligible to receive.
Grants
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant is awarded to students who have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet general eligibility requirements. The amount of the grant is determined by the Department of Education.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
The Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant is awarded to students with exceptional financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH)
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant (TEACH) provides grants to students who are completing or plan to complete course work needed to begin a career in teaching.
Kansas Comprehensive Grant
The Kansas Comprehensive Grant is awarded to Kansas residents who demonstrate financial need as defined by the Kansas Board of Regents, and meet the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) submission deadline of April 1 of the applicable year.

Bethany Grant
The Bethany College uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and your Admissions application to determine this institutional need-based grant eligibility requirements.

Scholarships
Academic Merit Scholarship
The Academic Merit Scholarship is awarded to incoming students who show strong academic achievement determined by high school grade point average (GPA), ACT, SAT and/or transfer GPA.
Bethany Awards
Bethany Awards are scholarships recommended by Bethany faculty and/or coaches in designated areas (Art, Athletics, Digital Media Arts, Music, Theatre).
Good Life Scholarship
The Good Life Scholarship is awarded to first-time freshman who graduated from a McPherson County (KS) or Saline County (KS) high school.

Federal Work-Study
Federal Work Study provides work opportunities to students with financial need based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Loans
Federal Direct Loan
The Federal Direct Loan program is awarded to students who have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet general eligibility requirements. The amount available depends on grade level.
Federal Direct PLUS Loan
The Federal Direct PLUS Loan program provides credit-worthy parents a loan through the federal government. Parents are allowed to borrow the difference between the cost of attendance and the financial aid their student is scheduled to receive.
Private Loans
Private Loans (Alternative Loans) are offered by third-party lenders. These loans are designed to bridge the gap between college costs and traditional financial aid resources.
Additional Steps for Loans
Students who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be considered eligible to borrow through the Federal Direct Loan program.
NOTE: If your parent received a denied credit decision on their PLUS Loan application, there are a few other options. Your parent can add a credit-worthy endorser, appeal the credit decision, or you may request the additional unsubsidized Federal Direct Loan for yourself.
